Betaab Valley, previously known as Hagan or Hagan Valley, is situated around fifteen kilometers from Pahalgam, Anantnag District in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is located in between the two Himalayan Ranges- Pir Panjal and Zanskar. The valley came to be called Hagoon until 1983, but after the release of the movie Betaab this valley became popular as ‘Betaab Valley’. The Majority of the scenes of this blockbuster Bollywood movie starring- Sunny Deol & Amrita Singh were shot in this valley after which the valley got its new name; i.e. ‘Betaab Valley’.

History of the valley
The Betaab valley has an illustrious historical significance. It was a part of the great Mughal Empire and has got several references in many of the literary works dating to that period. Sultan Ghiyas-ud-Din Zain-ul-Abidin, better known by his courtiers as the greatest local King that has ever ruled Kashmir, had a stronghold on this place and the people here are just a reflection of his good nature. They are cordial, helpful, and come with a friendly attitude which gives you a back-at-home feeling.
